Hey Mighty Paw Fam, Barbara here to show you how to measure your dog for our Mighty Paw Harnesses.
That's important to find the right fit, especially because our line of harnesses consist of different styles and sizes than those of other brands. For example, a Mighty Paw size Medium harness isn't designed the same way as a Medium harness from other brands.
Our 3 harnesses also differ slightly from one another and each one fits a bit differently. With that in mind, a dog who wears a Large Original Sport Dog Harness 1.0 doesn't necessarily need a Large Sport Dog Harness 2.0.
For example, my 38 lb pup Wally measures 14.75" around his neck and 22" around his chest.
He wears a Medium size in our Sport Dog Harness 2.0 but a Small size in both our Vehicle Safety Harness and our Original Dog Sport Harness 1.0.

How To Measure Your Dog For Our Mighty Paw Harnesses
One thing that doesn't differ regardless of which of our harnesses you plan on purchasing is WHERE you measure your dog for it.
You'll always want to measure around your dog's neck and chest. Simply use the dotted lines in the measurement graphics we include with all of our harness product listings as reference points. That's where you'll want to measure.
It's easiest to use a soft measuring tape on your pup, but you can also get accurate measurements using a piece of string or ribbon and a ruler.
Place the string around your dog's neck and the chest area right behind the front legs, respectively. Use your fingers to mark the length on the string, then place that amount of string along a ruler to get its length in inches.

Sport Harness 1.0: Our Original Walking Harness

Sport Harness 2.0: Our Redesigned Walking Harness
What's different from the original Sport Dog Harness:
Our original Sport Dog Harness 1.0 is completely padded around the neck area, which, while being more comfortable for your pup, has no adjustability around the neck. The 2.0 has the best of both worlds with its fully adjustable neck while still retaining quite a bit of padding.

Both Dog Sport Harnesses work with the seat belts.
However, our Vehicle Safety Harness is specifically designed for your dog’s safety on car rides: We’ve performed in-house force testing, applied reinforced cross-stitching throughout, and used a wider padded chest piece.
Are The Harnesses Padded To Avoid Chafing?
Yes, all our harnesses are padded.
Can I Add Tags To The Harnesses?
Yes, all our harnesses come with D-rings for tags.
Can The Harnesses Be Washed? How?
Yes, our harnesses can be washed either by hand or in the washing machine on the cold and gentle cycle. We recommend air-drying them as opposed to using a dryer.
Do The Mighty Paw Harnesses Fit Toy Size Dogs?
Unfortunately, our harnesses don’t fit toy size dogs. Our smallest harnesses are the small Vehicle Safety Harness (Neck 11-17.5", Chest 17.5-24.5") & the Small Sport Dog Harness 2.0 (Chest 16.5-22", Neck 11.5-17.5").
Do The Harnesses Have To Be Pulled Over A Dog’s Head?
No, they don’t! Our harnesses have quick release buckles to help you easily put them on and around your dog’s neck instead of pulling them over the head.
Are The Harness Leash Attachments Metal?
Yes, all the hardware is made of metal.
