That's actually much easier than you may think, especially because our clippers are:
- Cordless
- Lightweight and
- Work for dogs of all coat types
Obviously, they'll come in most handy for dogs with thicker coats and longer hair, but even dogs with shorter coats benefit from the occasional trim.
That's especially true for their hind legs and in-between their paw pads.
Tip: Keep a pair of dog grooming clippers in your doggie first aid kit. It comes in really handy to shave around wounds!

It's Easy to Cut Your Dog's Hair with Mighty Paw's Dog Grooming Clippers
Benefits of Cutting Your Dog's Hair Yourself
But first things first, what are you getting out of cutting your dog's hair yourself? Isn't that sort of a chore?
Money Saved
Well, first of all, and that's probably the most tangible one, you're saving a decent amount of money on a professional hair cut at the grooming salon.
Depending on your dog's coat length and overall condition, that ranges somewhere between $40-$150, tips not included.
Yes, you're going to be spending money on dog grooming clippers, but that won't be a recurring monthly cost!
Time Saved
You'll be grooming on your own time and won't have to wait around for a grooming appointment.
Professional groomers tend to book up quickly, especially the mobile ones, and sometimes you just don't have the time to wait.
Stress Saved
If your dog's anxious in loud environments and not a fan of being handled by other people, you'll be saving them a decent amount of stress.
You'll also be strengthening the bond between yourself and your pup by spending that extra time together, so what's not to love?!
How to Groom a Dog with Clippers
We believe in working smarter not harder, so first things first - it's a lot easier to give your dog a haircut if you follow these grooming tips!
First tip: Plan your dog's grooming session after a walk or some playtime. That way, they're more likely to be calm and relaxed.

Brush & Bathe Your Dog Before You Cut Any Hair
We recommend you bathe, thoroughly brush and blow dry your dog's coat before you begin your work with the grooming clippers!
For dogs with matted hair, try our dog grooming rake. It's a 2-in-1 dual-sided comb with rounded stainless steel safety teeth, a soft grip ergonomic handle and a built-in thumb rest.
For dogs with thick coats, our slicker dog grooming brush will do the trick. It has 100% stainless steel soft bent bristles that retract, a soft grip ergonomic handle and built-in thumb rest.
If your pup has a short, thin coat, try our dog grooming glove. It has 375+ variable height grooming tips and is made of 100% BPA-free silicone.
Treat Your Blades With Oil Before Each Cut
Treat the blades with 5 drops of oil before every use to keep them from rusting, causing friction and overheating.
Briefly turn on the clippers to allow the oil to spread evenly throughout.
Have Your Dog Stand For Their Cut
It's easiest to trim your dog's coat with our clippers when they're standing. For small dogs, lift them up onto an elevated surface.
That way, you won't have to bend over too much and your back will thank you!
Start With Fully Charged Clippers
We recommend you start your grooming session with fully charged grooming clippers. Ours last 4.5 hours on a full charge which gives you plenty of time to trim at least one dog's coat!
But even if you forgot to charge them or your charge is running low, you can still use them while the charging cable is plugged in.
How to Move The Clippers
When you're trimming the fur on your dog's head, move the clippers both in the direction of your dog's hair as well as against the grain. That's particularly effective on dogs with lots of head fluff like doodles!
When you're trimming the fur on your dog's body and legs, move the clippers in the direction of your dog's hair rather than against the grain. For those larger areas, you'll want to use larger comb attachments.
Don't forget to trim your dog's fur:
- under their paws and in-between their paw pads
- around their sanitary (private) parts
- around their ears
For those smaller areas, use smaller comb attachments.
Also, it's easier to trim the area around your dog's feet and eyes using dog grooming sheers. Ours come in a pack of 2 and include removable finger rings.
Clean The Clippers After Each Cut
It’s very easy to remove the titanium coated fixed blade which takes the stress out of cleaning!
We recommend you thoroughly remove loose hair stuck in the blade with our complimentary cleaning brush after each use.

Cordless & Rechargeable
Our dog grooming clippers are cordless and rechargeable, so you can give your dog a haircut everywhere!
Their long-lasting Lithium Ion battery charges in less than 3 hours and lasts 4.5 hours per charge.
That gives you plenty of time for high quality dog grooming in the comfort of your home while our modern LED Display tracks your battery life and blade speed.
You can also plug the power adapter directly into the clippers to use them while their battery is empty.
Quiet Motor for Your Pup
Grooming can be stressful for some dogs, that's why we made sure to design our dog grooming clippers with a specific motor that won’t startle your (anxious) pup!
It's also a lot quieter than human clippers.
Tip: Slowly introduce your noise-anxious dog to the grooming clippers, ideally in combination with some yummy treats or a favorite toy to make a positive connection with the tool.
